I have tried the "workaround" of disabling network adapters, but that didn't solve it. Haven't tried reinstalling as that's a last measure. This issue did not exist prior to update 2 (Black Ice).

What the hell is the point of going through the trouble of buying a physical copy then Valve? We buy physical copies so we DO NOT have to do this download crap other then patchs. Yeah i tried installing via DVD but it says i couldn't because it isn't launched yet.

But when i clicked Preload it went into download mode but wasn't moving either.. do you guys think that it might have thought that i purchased it from steam by that ?

Tried most things from updating direct X to framework and Microsoft Visual C and I still get the same error, even re-installed the game.

I have even tried in the "Steam settings" to run "Verify integrity of game cache" and the result is: Validating Steam files - 100% complete - 1 files failed to validate and will be reaquired.
